[edit] Character Description

Vegito is a fictional character who first appeared in some of the final episodes of the Dragonball Z anime and is the result of Goku and Vegeta fused with the Potara earrings, and is the most powerful being in the DBZ universe. He only appeared for a short time in a battle against Majin Buu, even though the fusion was meant to be permanent. After Vegito entered Buu’s body to release the captives within, the fusion broke down back into Goku and Vegeta.

[edit] Plot Involvement

Vegito attacks Buu

Vegito was a desperation fusion between Goku and Vegeta, created to make a final stand against the formidable villain, Super Buu, who had absorbed Piccolo, Gotenks, and Ultimate/chou gohan. Originally, Goku had intended to fuse with his son Gohan, but when the latter became absorbed by Buu while looking for the potara earing, the future looked bleak for planet Earth, and the universe. That is, until Vegeta made his return from Other World, and after a brief argument, Goku managed to convince Vegeta into fusing with him by means of the Potara Earrings, creating the ultimate warrior: Vegito.

In the original manga, Vegito immediately transforms into a Super Saiyan upon fusion. In the anime adaptation however, Vegito first fought Buuhan in his regular base form. After a short fight, Vegito proved more than a worthy opponent for Majin Buu, overpowering and outclassing him in every aspect. However, Buu was still convinced of his victory, prompting Vegito to transform into a Super Saiyan. At this stage, Vegito established a total domination over Majin Buu, rendering the self proclaimed "terror of the universe", helpless, and ridiculed. In a shocking twist of events however, Majin Buu managed to absorb Vegito into his being, seemingly signaling the end of the universe. But ultimately, it turned out that Vegito's mission was not to defeat Majin Buu, but to free his family and friends that were previously absorbed by him.

After Vegito was absorbed by Buu, his fusion dissolved, for which the actual reason remains unknown. After this separation, Vegito was never again seen.

[edit] Appearance

In his base form, Vegito mirrors the appearance of a typical full blooded Saiyan. Black hair, and black eyes. He also has very spiky, upright hair, caused by Vegeta's inclusion in the fusion. As a Super Saiyan, Vegito's hair turns blonde, and his eye color becomes turquoise. His attire most resembles Goku's clothing in the upper body, only everything is blue except for his orange undershirt. However, he wears Vegeta's white gloves and boots, and his pants are the same color as Vegeta's.

[edit] Personality

Though Vegito's general appearance mostly resembles Goku, his personality can easily be discerned as mostly Vegeta's. Also, his speech patterns also take after Vegeta. Like Vegeta, Vegito tends to be arrogant and cocky, often ridiculing his opponents for being an inferior fighter. However, he's also a clever tactician, a trait for which Vegeta is well known.

[edit] Abilities

Being a fusion of Goku and Vegeta, it's self explanatory that Vegito can execute any technique his ingredients have in their arsenal. However, since Vegeta's character is dominant in the fusion, he generally uses Vegeta's attacks, such as the Big Bang Attack. Besides these attacks however, Vegito also developed some moves of his own. Most notably, Vegito has the ability to manipulate his ki into a blade-shaped blast, capable of piercing a hole into the opponents' body, potentially causing lethal injuries. Majin Buu survived this attack due to his ability to regenerate.

Vegito also has the ability to transform into a Super Saiyan. In this form, Vegito is generally accepted as the strongest character in Dragonball Z.
