[edit] Dragonball

1st Wish ~ 1st Summon
The very first time Shenron was summoned in Dragonball, Emperor Pilaf had stolen all the Dragonballs from Goku, Bulma and co, and was preparing to ask the Dragon for rule over the Earth. But Oolong intervened at the last moment and saved the Earth by using up the wish to request a pair of women’s underwear. He wore them on his head for the remainder of the saga...

2nd Wish ~ 2nd Summon
Goku spent the entire Red Ribbon Army Saga searching the Dragonballs and was finally able to summon Shenron at the end of the Fortuneteller Baba Saga. He was originally only looking for his grandfather’s 4-star ball, but when Bora was killed at the hands of Tao Pai Pai trying to protect Goku and his son Upa, Goku decided he was wish to bring Bora back to life. The wish was made at Upa and Bora’s home at the base of Korin Tower.

3rd Wish ~ 3rd Summon
Having learned about the Dragonballs from Emperor Pilaf, Demon King Piccolo eventually collected all seven, and summons Shenron after he successfully survived a battle to the death with Master Roshi. Even though he was already very powerful, Demon King Piccolo wished to become young again, thus making him even stronger. He then actually destroyed Shenron after he made his wish.

4th Wish ~ 4th Summon
After Demon King Piccolo was defeated and Kami was able to restore Shenron, a wish on the Dragonballs was made at Kame House to bring back to life everyone who had died at the hands of Demon King Piccolo and his subordinates. This included Master Roshi, Krillin and Chaotzu.

[edit] Dragonball Z

5th Wish ~ 5th Summon
After dieing during the battle with Raditz, Goku had been training in Other World for a year under King Kai, waiting for the arrival of the Saiyans to Earth. Roshi, Bulma and the others summoned Shenron at Kame House to bring Goku back to life once his training was complete and the Saiyans were about to arrive.

6th Wish ~ 6th Summon
After a lengthily time searching for the Dragonballs on Planet Namek, Gohan and Krillin were eventually in possession of all seven, and secretly summoned Porunga using Dende’s help while Vegeta was taking a nap. They used their first of three wishes to revive Piccolo, so that the Earth Dragonballs would be restored at the same time.

7th Wish ~ 6th Summon
Gohan, Krillin and Dende’s second wish to Porunga was to bring Piccolo to Planet Namek, following a request that Piccolo gave to them telepathically via King Kai.

8th Wish ~ 7th Summon
With the destruction of Planet Namek imminent, King Kai developed a plan to revive everyone and leave Frieza alone on Namek when it finally exploded. He told his plan to Kami, who sent Mr. Popo to collect the seven Earth Dragonball and wish to Shenron to bring back to life everyone who had been killed by Frieza and his henchmen.

9th Wish ~ 8th Summon
Immediately after the last wish to Shenron took effect, everyone who had died due to actions made by Frieza and his gang were revived, including Guru who had died from the grief Frieza caused by killing his children. This brought back Porunga as well, who still had one more wish to grant. Dende followed up with King Kai’s plan by using this wish to bring everyone on Namek to Earth, except Frieza. Goku requested though that he be left on Namek as well so he could finish his fight with Frieza.

10th Wish ~ 9th Summon
Since it takes a much shorter time for the wait on the Namek Dragonballs to reset, Porunga was summoned on Earth to revive those who remained. The first wish was used to transport Krillin’s deceased form to the Earth check-in station, so that he wouldn’t appear where Namek used to be when revived.

11th Wish ~ 9th Summon
Having just made the previous wish, Krillin was then brought back to life using the second wish to Porunga.

12th Wish ~ 9th Summon
It was decided up on King Kai’s planet that since there was only one more wish before having to wait another 130 days, it would be used to bring Yamcha back to life, as Tein and Chaotzu would have preferred to stay together and simply wait until Porunga was next summoned.

13th Wish ~ 10th Summon
Another 130 days later, Porunga was once again summoned on Earth. The first of these wishes was used to revive Chaotzu...

14th Wish ~ 10th Summon
...and the second wish of this set was used to bring Tein back to life.

15th Wish ~ 10th Summon
The last of the three wishes in this one summon to Porunga was used to transport all of the Namekians, as well as their Dragonballs and Porunga himself, to the new planet Namek so they could restart with lives in peace.

16th Wish ~ 11th Summon
Much later into DBZ, after Cell had been destroyed, the updated version of Shenron who could now grant two wishes at a time was summoned at the Lookout. The first of these wishes was used to bring back to life everyone who had been killed or absorbed by Cell.

17th Wish ~ 11th Summon
The Z Fighters were quite puzzled when it came to what they would use for their second wish to Shenron, since Goku couldn’t be brought back to life. Yamcha suggested making them all filthy rich, and Krillin was rejected his wish or turning Android 17 and Android 18 into humans. Krillin was however able to use to the wish to remove the self-destruct bombs from inside Android 17 and 18, so that they could have more normal lives.

18th Wish ~ 12th Summon
Due to Majin Vegeta killing lots of innocent people at the 25th World Tournament/Tenkaichi Budokai during the Babidi Saga, Bulma gathered the Dragonballs at the Capsule Corporation and wished for everyone who had died that day to be brought back to life, except those with evil hearts. This also included Kibito, but not Vegeta (you’d have thought they would notice that Gohan wasn’t revived, as they all thought he was dead). Goku then intervened and asked Shenron to reserve their second wish for another four months time.

19th Wish ~ 13th Summon
While Kid Buu was fighting with the Good Buu, Vegeta was setting up a plan to claim them a victory. He requested for the Namekians to summon Porunga, and asked them to use the first wish to restore the Earth, since Kid Buu had early destroyed it.

20th Wish ~ 13th Summon
Next, Vegeta asked that the second wish to Porunga be used to bring back to life everyone who Majin Buu had killed, except for those with evil hearts.

21st Wish ~ 13th Summon
Having powered up a Spirit Bomb attack using the energy with all the Earthlings who had just been brought back to life, Goku attempted to destroy Kid Buu with it, but found it still wasn’t quite enough. Fortunately, the last of three wishes to Porunga was made to restore all of Goku’s strength, so he could push the Spirit Bomb back to Kid Buu and finish him off once and for all.

[edit] Dragonball GT

22nd Wish ~ 14th Summon
Right at the very beginning of DBGT, Emperor Pilaf and his cronies found the seven black-star Dragonballs hidden deep within the Lookout and summoned the gigantic Red Shenron. When Goku arrived to stop him though, Pilaf inadvertently declared to him “I wish you were still a kid!”, not realising Shenron would deem him insincere. The wish was thus used to turn Goku back into a child.

23rd Wish ~ 15th Summon
After the black-star Dragonballs were brought back to Earth, Baby used them to summon the Red Summon and wish for his home planet Plant to be restored.

24th Wish ~ 16th Summon
After Baby was defeated, the Z Fighters remembered that the Earth was still due to explode due to using the black-star Dragonballs. They therefore moved everyone to planet Plant before the explosion, and then asked the Namekians to revive the Earth using Porunga.

25th Wish ~ 17th Summon
The final time Shenron appeared was to return the Earth to normal prior to the effects of all the Shadow Dragons. He then left for good accompanied by Goku...

[edit] Dragonball Z Movies

4.5th Wish ~ 4.5th Summon (Movie #1 – The Dead Zone)
Garlic Jr assembled the Dragonballs at his dark palace and summoned Shenron wishing for eternal life. Despite several villains in DBZ striving to achieve immortality using the Dragonballs, Garlic Jr was the only one to have succeed.

5.5.0th Wish ~ 5.5.0th Summon (Movie #2 – The World’s Strongest)
As this Movie began, Dr. Cochi was just completing his gathering of all the Dragonballs, and was able to summon Shenron wishing for Dr. Whello and his lab to be thawed out from the huge glacier they were encased inside of.

5.5.1th Wish ~ 5.5.1th Summon (Movie #3 – Tree of Might)
It is more difficult to clarify when this wish could have happened, since Tein, Chaotzu, Yamcha and Piccolo are all alive, and yet Goku’s uniform has the symbol he gained after his gravity training. Nonetheless, Gohan and Krillin summoned Shenron during this Movie to restore life to a forest that burnt down.

5.5.2th Wish ~ 5.5.2th Summon (Movie #4 – Lord Slug)
It is more difficult to clarify when this wish could have happened, since Tein, Chaotzu, Yamcha and Piccolo are all alive, and yet Goku’s uniform has the symbol he gained after his gravity training. This time around, Lord Slug gathered the Dragonballs after he found one on Gohan’s hat. He used his wish to Shenron to request eternal youth, making himself much stronger and better at fighting.

17.5th Wish ~ 11.5th Summon (Movie #10 – Broly: Second Coming)
Even though we didn’t actually see Shenron being summoned here, Goten pleaded to Shenron and the seven Dragonballs for help when Broly was on the brink of destroying the Earth. A vision of Goku was made that spurred on Gohan and Goten, giving them the confidence they needed to win. The vision then disappeared, and the Dragonballs dispersed.

18.5th Wish ~ 12.5th Summon (Movie #12 – Fusion Reborn)
With Other World in chaos and dead sprits returning to Earth, Shenron was summoned at the Capsule Corporation in an attempt to reverse the process. However, Shenron said that such was a request was too difficult for him to perform. We were never shown what wish was made during this summon in the end, if any.

21.5th Wish ~ 13.5th Summon (Movie #13 – Wrath of the Dragon)
The Z Fighters gathered the seven Dragonballs and made the wish to open the music box containing Tapion, believing that they were setting him free, when in fact they were setting Hirudegarn free as well.
