Dende is a fictional character from Dragonball Z and Dragonball GT.

[edit] Plot involvement

Dende is introduced as a young Namek who during Frieza's attack on Planet Namek was saved by Gohan and Krillin. Years later after Kami has fused with Piccolo, Dende is brought back to Earth to watch over as the new Guardian.

[edit] Abilities

He is part of the so called Dragon Clan, which is a select group of Namekians who are not specialized in combat, but instead in magic. For example, they have the ability to create the famous artifacts Dragonballs. Though possibly not necessarily restricted to Dragon Clan Namekians, Dende also possesses the ability to heal individuals badly injured in combat. No other Namekian has ever been seen demonstrating this ability.
